This post will present final thoughts on the Momentum component of EMC World, the Documentum roadmap as well as the announcements on Leap, the new name for the Project Horizon initiative.
A two hour ECD Roadmap session was the bulk of the second day as the morning was partner meeting and other EMC presentations. This post will present our thoughts on the roadmap.
This blog is the first post in a series that will consist of multiple short posts that touch on a number of differences between TSG’s HPI solution and the Webtop and D2 interfaces. For the first post, we will discuss searching for content. Users of ECM systems are often willing to put up with some of the more complex functionality (i.e. checkin, checkout, workflows), if they can quickly and accurately locate content. However, if users are unable to easily perform this basic function, you can be sure that they will be quick to loudly voice their concerns and find ways around using the ECM application.
TSG is happy to announce our new Documentum D2 plugin that allows Documentum D2 users to leverage OpenAnnotate for their PDF annotation needs. OpenAnnotate is a next generation web based annotation tool (no client side components) that allows users to quickly create rich annotations on a PDF document or rendition. Continue reading
One of the most common issues we see at our clients is with the initial indexing of attributes for documents being imported into Documentum or Alfresco. This post will present the new “Heads up” indexing in HPI for both single and bulk import of documents.
We recently helped a client with a difficult implementation surrounding the “Content Library” function released back in April with D2 as a primary client. The use case is focused on managing project deliverables for large-scale multi-year projects. This post will describe some of the client’s struggles and our overall thoughts. Continue reading
