Dell closing on sale of IT services to Japan’s NTT Data

As we have stated here a number of times, with Dell buying EMC for $67 Billion,  we are predicting that Dell will likely sell off non-core assets like Documentum.  Announced today, Dell is closing on it’s sale of IT Services (originally Perot Systems) to Japan’s NTT Data.  Just a quick post, but earlier reports had mentioned that Dell had shopped the services firm to TCS along with other non-core businesses.

For those doubters out there asking “Why would Dell sell off a profitable business?”, with a debt of $43 billion, the “Cash Cow” or “Rising Star” businesses are the ones that will generate the most interest and amounts.  We would expect that once the deal closes, Documentum to be one of those businesses similar to the earlier sale of Syncplicity before the merger.
